About us
We are Andi and Michi – owners and hosts of both houses. We answer your questions, and then we leave you in peace.
Best friends, one film company, two houses
Andi (Andreas Ramelsberger) and Michi (Michael Schanz) are best friends. At 18 they founded a film production company together: Spreadfilms. They still run it, and they produce commercial films internationally.
Spreadfilms has worked for start-ups, mid-sized companies and DAX-listed groups since 2008 – campaigns, social, product launches, employer branding, corporate films. More than 30 specialists, from concept and shoot to 3D, animation, sound and the finished film. Home base is Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria; the shoots go across Europe and further.
The Lofoten houses are their joint project away from the set. Two people who spend their working lives chasing the right light ended up with two houses where the light does most of the work.
Need a film rather than a holiday?
Fair enough – it happens. Spreadfilms takes a brief from companies that want a product, a service or a brand explained clearly, and turns it into a film that only that company could use. Andi is the contact there too.
Who you deal with
Andi and Michi own both houses and look after them themselves. Your booking and your questions go to them – not to an agency, not to a call centre. Expect straight answers: which house fits your dates, when the light is best, which hike works in that week's weather, which restaurant to book ahead.
What the houses are built around
Space, privacy and a proper end to a day outside. Big windows, wood and stone, a sauna at each house, room for families and friends, and nothing between you and the view. Both houses sit on the best plot in their spot.
How hosting works
Before you arrive: one contact for everything, in English or German. While you are there: a local contact if something needs fixing, and otherwise nobody knocking on the door. That is rather the point.
Why two houses?
Because Lofoten has two sides. The west around Reine is wild, steep and famous. The middle of the islands around Henningsvær is calmer and more open, with short drives everywhere. If you have a week or more, stay in both.

Privacy
Whole houses on the best plot in their spot. No shared walls, no shared sauna.
Warmth
Sauna, wood, wool and candlelight – a soft landing after Arctic weather.
Direct
One contact from first question to check-out: the owners.

Why Lofoten?
Short answer: the light. The long answer takes about a week on site.
