Long Stay in Lofoten

From 2 weeks – especially in Lyngvær. For a career break, remote work or simply living here for a while.

Lofoten changes by the week: the light, the weather, the sea. A long stay lets you see it. From 2 weeks (up to about three months), especially in Lyngvær, in a whole private house, arranged personally – the one thing we do not put in a booking calendar.

How it works

  • Holidays – a few nights to a couple of weeks – are booked directly online on the house pages.
  • A Long Stay – two weeks to about three months – is arranged personally. Send your dates, the number of guests and what brings you here. You get a personal reply with availability and terms.
  • In Lyngvær especially, long stays are possible across the year, depending on the calendar.
  • In Reine, long stays are also possible from 2 weeks, arranged individually.

What is different on a long stay

Cleaning during the stay, electricity and the agreement are arranged individually and confirmed in writing before you arrive.

Who it suits

People who want more than a holiday: a career break or sabbatical, a few weeks of remote work, a long winter for the northern lights, a project, or simply time to live in Lofoten for a while. Both houses are rented whole and feel genuinely private – useful when "two weeks" turns into two months.

Good questions

What is a Long Stay?

A stay of two weeks or more in one of the houses, arranged personally rather than booked online – for a career break or sabbatical, remote work, a winter of northern lights or simply living in Lofoten for a while. Send your dates and plans through the long-stay enquiry and you get a personal reply with availability and terms.

How long can a Long Stay be?

From two weeks to about three months per stay. Long stays are holiday stays: you keep your home elsewhere, and the details – cleaning during the stay, electricity, the agreement – are confirmed in writing before you arrive.

Can I stay long-term in Reine?

Yes. Long stays in Reine are possible from 2 weeks and are arranged individually. Tell us when and how long, and we will tell you what is possible. For a shorter holiday, simply book Reine online.

Is there Wi-Fi? Can I work remotely?

Yes. Both houses have fibre broadband; in Lyngvær it measured 172 Mbit/s. Good enough for video calls – whether you take them is up to you.

Can we stay in both houses on one trip?

Yes, and with a week or more it is the best way to see Lofoten: a few nights in the west around Reine, a few in the middle of the islands near Henningsvær. Book each house for its part of the trip – both are on the booking page.
